Peaceful Forest Location
Cruachan Cabin provides self-catering accommodation for up to four guests. It is an original Forestry Commission cabin situated within a ¼ acre garden by a pretty babbling burn. The cabin is approximately 200 meters from Loch Awe and a 2 minute walk from the village of Dalavich. The accommodation consists of a porch, open plan lounge, with dining and kitchen area, two bedrooms and large shower room. Wi-fi is available at a small extra cost.
The lounge area has TV (with Sky, Freeview and Netflix), DVD player, radio, a three-seater sofa, two-seater sofa, fold away dining table and chairs plus a beautiful log burning stove.
The well-equipped kitchen area has a cooker, fridge with small freezer compartment, microwave, toaster and kettle. A full range of cooking utensils, crockery and cutlery are provided.
From the lounge area patio doors give access onto the raised veranda, which overlooks the garden and has picnic table / benches. There is a large open meadow nearby, on which children can play safely.
The bathroom has an electric shower, wash basin, toilet, shaver point, large storage cupboards and wardrobe.
Bedroom 1 contains a double bed, storage space and bedside cabinet. With reading lamps and easily accessible sockets for phone charging. There is also a shelf for your glasses/phone during the night.
Bedroom 2, although small contains two bunks, suitable for adults or children with storage and separate lights over each bed.
The Hall is ideal for dirty boots and hanging coats & provides useful storage and a small stand-alone freezer.
A multitude of birds can be seen around the cabin, especially if fed, as well as Red Squirrels, Roe Deer and Pine Marten. The Pine Marten may visit the squirrel feeder of an evening and feast on any peanuts left out for them. The Roe Deer will often wander through the garden on a night feasting on our grass!
The cabin is double glazed, well heated and is suitable for use all year round. There is a campfire / BBQ area and ample parking for two cars. All electricity, linen and towels are included within quoted prices. This is a non-smoking cabin. We allow two dogs maximum in the cabin at extra £20 each per stay.
The location is in a dark skies area and a multitude of stars can be viewed on a clear night, including the Milky way and occasionally the northern lights.
